Well Laura, I will say this: the plastic surgeons of Dallas are doing quite well. Evidence was ample at last night’s EQ3 grand opening. Turns out “out-on-the-town cocktail cool” meant lots of strapless and halter-type dresses, which showed off every boob doctor’s handiwork. (Not complaining, just want to get my own.) In any case, I was very impressed with the party — valet, Aston Martins, security, food. Bowl-fuls of giant fresh berries for those of us who eat light, bacon-wrapped goodies and quesadillas for those who don’t, plus great mixed rum drinks for all. As for the merchandise, I was thinking better quality and style than IKEA (and you don’t have to put it together) but way more affordable than Design Within Reach. A nod to the 60’s with the colors, prints and paisley. EQ3 is from Canada and has stores in the Bay area; I am eying a $599 sofa and this cute boomerang table ($89) that can go anywhere for my son’s new apartment to keep him hip and impress the girls.
Then again, maybe not.
PS: Saw lots of designers — Kathy Adcock-Smith and Diane Linn, who trotted home with four shopping bags.
I shopped there weeks before the grand opening? Strage they didn’t mention anything to me. Btw, saw you last night. Nice glasses.
