Okay, maybe not cameras, but expect plenty of lights and action at Meletio next week. Everything will be illuminated–without the threat of bankruptcy–when you purchase fixtures that are 20 to 60 percent off. Frisco people don’t fret–the sale happens at both the Dallas and Frisco store July 1 through the 5th. The chandelier pictured happens to be in a cathedral in Greece–I thought it might lead to some divine inspiration and bright ideas on your shopping days. (The lighting puns–I’ve got a million of them.)
I am about to move into a new place and am greatly in need (well, want) of some new bedding. While I have invested hours searching (believe me…HOURS), there is just nothing out there that I am crazy about. I suppose I will just have to use the white duvet sprinkled with red poppy flowers again that I bought at Pottery Barn forever ago. Yes, it is adorable, classic, timeless, etc., but I have used it for the past five years and am getting kind of tired of the same ol’, same ol’.
Lucky for me, poppy flowers were big five years ago and are back again. They literally are popping up everywhere, and I have found a couple of accessories that make me excited to reuse my nearly-vintage duvet. I love this crate paper wall hanging from Poppy Cotton (24″ x 30″; $115). In fact, I love it so much it will be hanging in my room in 5-7 days.
My other new addition comes from Anthropologie. The delicately embroidered Seed Packet Pillow is adorable and pairs beautifully with my duvet (20″ square; $98).
Ouch. Yeah, bad pun. Sorry. But this upcoming event at Flavors From Afar is pretty cool. Caroline and Allen Fruth of Fruth Farms visits the epicurean favorite this Saturday, June 28 (12-4pm) to talk about all things free-range and grass-fed. They’ll discuss their transition from corporate life to life on the farm as well as their philosophy for respecting the animals that sustain us. Also, enjoy Caroline’s treats: mini-quiches, angel’s food cake with strawberries, and mini-burgers.
