Everyone Gets Cake

dsc01878.jpgPeggy and I just returned from cake and champagne at George Cameron Nash’s showroom. (150 Dallas Design Center) People, there’s still time to enjoy petit fours and Veuve Clicquot. Drop by today, and wish George a happy 21st birthday. Also, enjoy the luscious bright flowers (excuse the poor cell phone image) by Chris Whanger.

Lourdes, I’ll Take Two, Please…

bulbs_flowers.jpgLourdes is my long suffering staffing sidekick for my little projects.  The Trophy Husband sighed with relief as I finished unloading 360,000,000,000 plants and bulbs.  (I used the money he’d been saving for his record label…)

Kelly Wearstler Used My Chair!

rs_blogimage.jpg

I was flipping through the new issue of Domino, and saw this photo of Kelly Wearstler’s chic redesign of The Tides Hotel in Miami, with a dramatic phalanx of man-made tortoise shells on the wall (see page 32 in the May issue). Upon closer examination, I saw that she’s used the same stylish 1980s era “rope” chairs that Julio Quinones found for me several years ago! Same color, but without arms. Take a look.

Spring Thing at the Decorative Center

William Stubbs, host of A Moment of Luxury on PBS is the featured guest, but Loyd and Josie are always the stars. PS - great food and wine, too. It’s all good.

Slick Returns Home, Canine Amber Alert Cancelled

Excitement abounds at Chez Tackett.

As I returned home from my early morning garden center run to cherry-pick crimson hued zinnias…I saw my Trophy Husband standing on the corner of our cul-de-sac.  His car was parked akimbo to the curb.  Said spouse was waving his arms, then crouched, then began making kissing gestures.  I assumed this was directed toward me.

My heart filled with mushy girl feelings, thinking of how loving and romantic my man is, and then I saw the object of my husband’s attention.
