Forestwood hosts antiques expert double-header

(Dallas, Texas) Forestwood Antique Mall is ushering in spring with an abundance of antiques expertise April 10 and 12, as it welcomes nationally recognized porcelain and pottery experts David Lackey and Debby DuBay for two afternoons of all things porcelain.

Over the years each have garnered notable accolades, Lackey, a familiar face in the Houston business/antiques communities, as a frequent appraiser on PBS’ popular Antiques Roadshow, and DuBay for her passion for pottery which was touted in the best-selling book The Business of Bliss: How to Profit from Doing What You Love, which was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show. During their vist, Lackey and DuBay will offer tips for making savvy investments in antiques and collectibles, insight about the rewarding adventures found within antiquing and their own passion for antiques.

Lackey began collecting antiques at the age of six, and became an antiques dealer at the ripe old age of 12. Born and raised in west Texas and New Mexico, Lackey embraced antiques as a full-time business in 1983. His work has taken him to London to study fine arts at Christie’s, and into the living rooms of millions of viewers as a pottery and porcelain appraiser on Antiques Roadshow. An obsessive collector of antique English Regency period ceramics, and vintage Texas and Louisiana art, Lackey is a well-know antique dealer in the Houston area doing business as David Lackey Antiques and Art. In addition, he is a founding partner in eDish, a service specializing in the matching of antique, discontinued and pre-owned china and crystal.

DuBay is a Vietnam and Desert Storm Era veteran, who upon her retirement from the United States Air Force, turned her life-long passion for porcelain into her second profession. Owner of Limoges Antiques Shop, in Andover, MA, DuBay is recognized for her expertise in European and American porcelains and is at the highest-level of professional appraiser as a member of the prestigious Appraisers Association of America. A member of several East Coast-based appraisal and collector associations, she’s served as a contributor of several porcelain books, and authored four books on Limoges, including Antique Trader® Limoges Price Guide.

Forestwood Antique Mall is located just 10 miles north of downtown Dallas, and serves as a haven for collectors and antique lovers of all interests. A melting pot of everything and anything antique, this site is home to 250 dealers. A staple of the Dallas/Fort Worth antiquing community, it’s been featured in USA Today’s Travel/Destination section.
