Owners adorn pampered pets in everything from bunny ears and Mardi Gras beads, to bonnets, flowers, feathers and frills WHAT: This Sunday pampered pups will be dressed up in their Easter finery – bonnets, flowers, feathers and frills, and even pastel dye jobs – for the Turtle Creek Association’s 23rdAnnual Easter in the Park event featuring the hilarious Pooch Parade and Costume Contest at 1 p.m. The Dallas Animal Services’ Parade of Adoptable dogs kicks off the festivities at 12:45 p.m. Held at Lee Park off Lemmon in Dallas, the event is free and open to the public (although a $10 registration fee is required for dogs entering the Pooch Parade). The beloved family-oriented celebration typically attracts 10,000 – 12,000 attendees (depending on the weather!). Guests are invited to bring blankets and picnic lunches or may dine on a wide variety of “State-Fair-type” foods, such as corn dogs, funnel cakes, schnitzel on a stick and kettle corn. The event benefits Turtle Creek Association, a 501 (c) (3) organization whose primary focus is to enhance, preserve and protect the Turtle Creek Corridor.
