For indoor floral inspiration, head to Whole Foods. The Highland Park WF lobby is overflowing with hydrangeas and Easter and calla lilies. If only the Internet had scratch and sniff.
It takes a day of Seattle weather to appreciate today’s sunshine. These tulips win the prize of my affection. I gasped when I saw them at the corner of St. Johns and Armstrong, and made Jessica pull over so I could smell and snap them. To the owner of this mid-century house, well done.
I am a simple lady. I appreciate pretty baubles. I like learning about new things. I am a firm believer in lunch. And above all, I love, love, love cocktails. Imagine my delight when I recieved an invite to Christie’s “Rare Jewels and Gemstones: The Eye of a Connoisseur” event on April 2 and 3 at East and Orient. While I certainly have suspected (and even tried to tell my ex-boyfriend) that my every need could be met by Christie’s, it’s nice to have confirmation. Paige Phelps, who used to be able to write for us regularly until she got a job at the News, is responsible for this recent lyrical story in our magazine about 20-something Chris Weisinger who cultivates antique and heirloom bulbs for a living. Every woman at the magazine has a crush on Chris, a quiet and God-fearing soul who probably would be horrified to learn this scary news.
Okay Paige, even though you referred to me vaguely as “the writer of the blog” in your post at your fancy new job at the News, I’ll ignore it. Notice I used your full name in the title, no less.
