Helping Laura Bush freshen up the White House, as documented in the new March issue of Architectural Digest. And we know Laura loves green. In fact, the Green Room is her favorite.
One Comment to “What Has Kenneth Blasingame Been Doing?”

The plug by Paige Rense in the March, 2008 issue of Architectural Digest is unconscionable.
She begins her letter from the editor in the March, 2008 issue of Architectural Digest with the following: “‘The White House is Calling.’ That was the message that began the feature in this issue.’” From there, she totally rambles, ending up with some non-segue about Prince Charles in order to pitch her latest book. Hello, Paige, are you there? Do you think you’re readers aren’t really that smart?
Rense totally makes it sound as if The White House approached Architectural Digest for this story.
On the other hand, Sally McDonough, Mrs. Bush’s Press Secretary, will not verify this. If The White House did indeed approach Architectural Digest with a request to do this story, why doesn’t she just say so? Maybe because if this were true, it wouldn’t look so good. Why? Because to do so might look like a last-ditch effort to get Ken Blasingame, the interior decorator who decorated the Bushes’ private quarters in the Texas governor’s mansion and White House some press.
If The White House didn’t approach Architectural Digest about the story, why does Rense in her column allude to that fact? I, for one, don’t know what or who to believe.
