A Word about “Greenwash”

True, not all products touted to be green will make the cut with purists - however, I believe that at some point imitation reflects acceptance. I’d much rather see a retailer work in some fun, less environmentally toxic product than ignore the situation completely. As for those splitting hairs over green standards - keep it up! It will only help move the needle. Example: my 84 year old dad drove up from Florida for Thanksgiving in his new hybrid SUV. After 3 days on the road, he pulls into my driveway (behind my Prius) and greets me with, “I was only getting 40 mpg on the highway. Do you think I should have gotten the sedan instead?”

Excellent point, Loyd. I would love to see some high-end, truly green products brought in to places like Barneys, though. But you’re completely right.
