Brilliant: Not so much

Sometimes when Christine and I get back from church and/or performing charitable deeds, we like to read what our friends at other publications have to say. Last week, we read Brilliant from cover to cover. First of all, Lara Shriftman is a contributing lifestyle editor—but she’s also a PR person, so I’m confused. And she lives in NYC, so that’s even more confusing, because Brilliant is all about “Texas Style & Substance.” Maybe it’s a different Lara. Anyway, more perplexing: In the article, “An Early Frost,” the editors employ interesting comma usage. For example a ring is listed for “2,7000″ at DeBeers (instead of $27,000) and another is “$3,8000″ (instead of $38,000) at Anthony Nak. Cutting edge.
