So I walk to my desk this morning and lo and behold, my co-workers have draped it in black crepe paper and black balloons, cleaned up all my belongings and placed them neatly in a box, and put a tombstone over my computer screen that says, “R.I.P. Paige Phelps Sept. 2, 2003- Sept. 7, 2007 ‘You’re dead to us.’”
I know, I know, you’re dabbing your eyes. It’s OK, I understand your sadness, but, my friends, it is indeed time for me to say goodbye. Today is my last day here at the D Mag brands, Monday I start work at The Dallas Morning News as their home and garden reporter. Thanks to all my D Home compadres, you guys have taught me so much in this last year, I owe you all big time!
