A reader says:
“A couple of years ago my 18-year-old son left St. Mark’s (voluntarily) against my advice to attend prep school in Connecticut (yeah, I thought St. Mark’s was a prep school). He has embraced this lifestyle in true prep fashion. He is currently summering (you do know that ’summer’ is a verb in Connecticut?) in Nantucket and the Hamptons with school friends.
According to the young preppies - If you don’t own a summer wardrobe of Vineyard Vines clothing, then you don’t know prep. That line was only available in the northeast for the longest. I have to laugh because now they sell it here in Dallas at St. Bernard’s Sports.
The other funny thing is that we’ve run into more friends and neighbors in a week on Cape Cod than at the local Tom Thumb.“
