Better late than never (blame my tardiness on last night’s Best of Big D party–no, blame everything on last night’s Best of Big D party), here’s your weekly taste of recommended wine tastings:

Best Cellars on Knox Street is now Crush Wine Shop & Tasting Bar. New owner Jim Larkin promises the same friendly, relaxed atmosphere with a few changes, including a broader wine selection, more nibbles, and a wine club program. What hasn’t changed is the Saturday Chef Series, and this Saturday, July 21 features Lola executive chef David Uygur. Sample five wines, a full glass of your fave, and a sample of Lola’s cuisine for $10.

Also on Saturday, Farpointe Cellar offers its Globe Trotter Wine flights for $15. Enjoy and learn about five different wines from around the globe at both the Southlake and Frisco locations.

Cork hosts a sake class Wednesday, July 25, pairing the often misunderstood rice wine with food from local chefs. $30 per person.
