Best of Big D

Do you have fantasies about a top-hatted D Magazine executive editor Tim Rogers? Do those dreams include touching Eric Celeste’s bald head, comparing birding notes with Nancy Nichols, or chatting up Paul Kix about DNA? The Best of Big D bash can make all those dreams come true and more. On July 19 at 7 p.m. at the Palladium Ballroom, for a mere $40 ($50 at the door), you have the opportunity to–wait for it–hang with the entire staff of the D Magazine Partners empire. (Yes. Including me.) The event promises to be unforgettable (though depending on your consumption goals, we could be wrong). Entertainment includes N’awlins Gumbo Kings, Queen for a Day, Cuvee, and DJ WiSH FM. Sample food from a variety of restaurants including Grotto, La Calle Doce, La Duni, LUQA, Palomino, and NANA. Sip a cocktail or nine courtesy of PAMA and Patron. The one caveat: you need to wear gold. Bouncers have been instructed to bounce anyone lacking in the gold department. Okay, I made the bouncer thing up–but prepare to be ostracized by the cool(ish) kids if you’re not dressed appropriately.
