PUTTIN’ ON THE RITZ

I interviewed the suave and sophisticated Ritz-Carlton general manager, Roberto van Geenan, for our current issue. (See Metro “8 Things.”) He says perfectly lovely things such as “We are ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen.” And although he did not follow that up with anything to suggest this, I think we could be best friends eventually, especially if we spend more time together. Here’s my plan: inherit a large sum of money, and move into the Residence at the Ritz-Carlton Dallas, which is scheduled to break ground “soon,” according to the press release. The homes range from $700,000 to $8 million (!!) and are expected to be complete by mid-2009. This gives me just enough time to find a benefactor at the Old Monk. I better get there right away.
