WINE-OH! FRIDAY

By popular demand (and because I’m over my bout of laziness), it’s back: Our recommendation of wine events, new releases, and all things dense and jammy with a long linger on the palate:

Grand Tastings showcases wines for your Easter feast this weekend with a set of tastings and pairings. Finally, learn which red goes best with the Easter bunny. (Shhh… just tell the kids it’s chicken.) $25 this Saturday from 3-7 p.m.

The Wine Market has a deal for you: the 2001 Chateau d’Yquem (Rated a perfect 100 points by both Robert Parker and Wine Spectator) for $219.99 (regularly $319.99). This dessert wine is considered to be one of the finest in the world, and this vintage is as good as it gets. Buy it now before it’s all gone.

Off the Vine/Into the Glass hosts Bud Stocking of Three Rivers Winery from Washington’s Columbia Valley for a chat and tasting of his acclaimed wines. (The 2002 Columbia Valley Meritage was a gold medal winner at the 2005 Dallas Morning News Wine Competition.) 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April. 10.
