DALLAS MUSEUM OF ART’S SATURDAY AFFAIR

Kodak Theater may have had the film stars this weekend, but intern Eugenie McCarthy reports that the DMA had its fair share of Dallas’ young and glamorous.

“Well, the Affair of the Art 2007 was quite the success this year, and we all celebrated in style. Many young things were at the Dallas Museum of Art on Saturday night to fete the annual fundraiser. Blue ice cubes in the spirit of the Bleu Ball floated in Perriers, as guests voted on the prize piece…”

Find out who was there and which acquisition the DMA got.

Darling Capera Ryan of Christie’s, hostess for the evening, sporting a long blue number from Korshak, greeted. Brother Willing Ryan was spotted in the crowd looking handsome as ever. Those in the mix include good friends Holt Haynsworth of Haynsworth Photography with date Meagan Hayes of RSVP Soiree—a darling Dallas duo to say the least. Chad Cook was there, too. My favorite Neiman Marcus crew and good friends—Matthew Simon (in an amazing red velvet jacket) and Doss Alexander graced the party elegantly. Catherine Carr was decked in a short yellow dress—quite the blonde vision that night. Todd Stevens, the budding investment banker about town, sported a black and window pane tuxedo shirt and looked quite dapper. Finally, my oldest and dearest friends the Lavies—Katie and Pierre Lavie and Pierre’s bombshell sister Laetitia Lavie looking amazing in a svelte black number. Katie donned a beautiful white shirt with navy satin long skirt and elegant pearls.

The painting acquired by the Dallas Museum that night—“Prospector’s Home Near Phantom Gulch” by Doris Lee, 1936. Quite the prize! Cannot wait till the next bash next winter! Stay tuned…
