KIRKLAND’S HOME PROMOTIONS

Think of it as Project Runway for your walls. This is the last week of Kirkland Home’s “next great American artist” contest. Submit your artwork and it may be chosen for nationwide reproduction and a $5,000 prize.

But the home store has some other promotions going on, too. Like their world’s largest pillow fight attempt in Grapevine this past Saturday.

Alas, I’m told that thunderstorms kept the pillows at bay. Curses to Texas weather! Always ruining the fun!

WHAT: This is the final week for artists to enter the Next Great American Artist Contest, from Kirkland’s Home Stores.

WHEN: Deadline October 2, 2006

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Since the Next Great American Artist contest launched August 31, more than 1,300 artists have submitted artwork, and the Web site has received nearly 6 million hits. This is the last week for artists to submit original artwork into the contest. Artists can enter work in any medium, from sculpture to paintings to photographs. The winning artwork will be reproduced and sold throughout Kirkland’s Home stores nationwide. One grand prize winner will receive $5,000. Nine runners-up will each receive $500 in Kirkland’s merchandise credit. In addition, Kirkland’s Home may negotiate a contract with the winners at the conclusion of the contest.

Kirkland’s is a home accessory store in Frisco, Hurst, Ft. Worth, and coming soon to Prestonwood Town Center, among other locations. (Details in jump).
