I think you’re right, Rebecca, there is an online price threshhold–at least for furniture. About 10 years ago, when the techies were predicting the end of brick and mortar shopping, greedy web designers were approaching the major furniture manufacturers to cut out their local showrooms and go directly to the designers. Looking at the size and extravagance of new showrooms, you know that didn’t happen. We found that people will not spend over $5,000 for seating without trying it out. So, maybe a Missoni rug, but please don’t buy an Armani Casa sofa without trying it out.
