Yes, I am working feverishly on that restaurant piece but still find time to read the blogs. Frontburner recently blogged a message from a reader about furry beasts discovered by one of our staff members. Well, guess what? There are furry beasts right here in my Preston Hollow hood–which makes me wonder, just where do these restaurants get that free-range meat?
7/27/06: “At 11:30 PM some ladies from Eastview were out for a late walk. I went out on my front porch and they informed me that there was a mangy coyote loitering under the lamp at Eastview and Azalea. I reported it to the patrol, and the officer checked the beast out. Probably a good idea to warn folks with animals. The coyote seemed very calm–and unafraid of humans.”
And then… the mystery is solved…
7/28/06: “The feral beast sighted recently sulking under the street lamp at Azalea and Eastview was NOT a coyote as recently reported. Our patrol-officer who fearlessly approached the beast (in his auto) positively identified the animal under intense light as a red FOX. Crime watch members should still take care not to leave their pets unprotected.”
