Okay, Roger, is this for certain a going-out-of-business sale? Urban Home has major clearance sales routinely. If Urban Home is truly going out of business, what a sad thing for Dallas. But we are GOB skeptics around here. Since our offices are on Oak Lawn, we have watched oriental rug stores conduct GOB sales about every other month. That’s when they weren’t moving across the street to have grand openings. So keep us posted on Urban Home.

And for GOB wonks,here’s some trivia: when Gabberts folded its tent a few weeks ago and started its GOB extravaganza, executives at Robb & Stucky thought for sure they’d see a dip in sales. As it happened, sales at Robb & Stucky spiked. ( And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I am not in retail.)
